    Love this project! Do it every year. My students are always excited to “fly” to another country/continent to learn about how their holiday(s) are celebrated. It aligns well with our Social Studies curriculum. The children LOVE taking the folder home to share what they’ve learned. The completed project is so adorable.

    I really like this resource for the holiday season. I don’t use all the pieces but have a goal to use more at some point. We have done this two years in a row. We use the fact sheet with the questions on the back. We complete one page each day. I choose the holidays that match well with my class make up and add others to introduce them to a variety of holidays. When we finished them, I stapled the individual pages into the folder. It was a nice packet to take home.

    This is a great resource to teach students about holidays around the world! We had some great discussions about what could be celebrated in the month of December other than Christmas. I had students complete the activity pages and then create their lapbooks with 3 holidays they picked. They were only allowed to pick one version of American Christmas. It was fun to see them challenge themselves and have fun doing so!

I used it for Around the World, to provide context to all students that Christmas is celebrated in all different ways and it got my class to learn more about other countries traditions and eachother’s traditions. The lapbook is pretty simple to make as long as you take it step by step with the kids! They get the hang of it pretty fast! I cut some things out prior for them. Loved this resource and plan to use it more this year!! 🙂

What I love about this project as a teacher is the PowerPoint presentation. It was perfect to teach my students. The whole project had an easy format that was perfect for my 3rd graders.
