My second grade students have horrible hand-writing (largely in part to have a hybrid Kindergarten year), and so I made a Joke of the Day handwriting binder for each student. We use this as morning work, and I’m really meticulous about making them fix anything that isn’t formed correctly or isn’t touching the lines properly.
