A 2nd grade reading comprehension center that practices identifying the author’s purpose. Students will read a short story and choose if the author’s purpose was to persuade, inform or entertain.

    We went around the room looking for the cards. My low readers buddied up with my high readers and worked together. They read the paragraph and allowed the lower student to figure out the answer.

    I am a reading coach and we are going to use this as a concluding activity to our cycle on Author’s purpose in a 2nd grade classroom.
