I had students write something related to each item so I knew they visited each place. For example, they had to count how many sharpened pencils were near the pencil sharpener and write down a special day they located on the calendar (birthday or holiday). Then we would go over each item and they would tell me the answer related to that specific place (23 sharpened pencils). I would use this time to also mention any specific rules or expectations related to this area (don’t touch anything on the teacher’s desk unless told to, etc. ).
