HOW TO PLAY:

Each partner gets a Toothy mat and dry erase marker. Students will take turns choosing a card. Each student who is playing the game will solve the problem on their Toothy mat or dry erase board. When all who are playing have answered the question, they compare their answers and then turn the card over to check to see if their answer is correct. Those who have a correct answer get to draw a tooth in Toothy’s mouth on their mat. If the student’s answer is incorrect, they do not draw a tooth and those who got the answer correct must explain how they got to the correct answer. Then the next student draws the next card and the process is repeated. The game is over once all 20 cards have been answered. The student with the most teeth in Toothy’s mouth is the winner of the game.

Absolutely love! I work in a k-3 classroom for behaviors so some of our 3rd graders still need this level… makes them feel they are doing the same as their peers because it looks exactly like the other toothy kits!

  2. Jason H.

I kept reading posts about this resource and finally decided to take the plunge. My kids LOVE it and the self-checking nature makes it super easy for kids to use. They are now asking me all the time to play Toothy!

  3. Brittany H.

I’ve been hearing the 1st and 2nd grade teachers at my school talk about how much their students love Toothy, so I decided to give it a try. I wish I would have gotten it a long time ago. Very well organized and engaging for students.

  4. polkadotfun

My students really enjoy the task kits. They love when it is time to work with them and always ask to keep working when they use them. Thank you for this wonderful resource.

  5. Courtney H.

Love that there is an option for velcroing the answers to the cards. Helps with not losing pieces and then also it helps my ELLs.

  6. Kristin H.

My students love using these “games” when they earned “free” time during reading interventions. They are not only fun, but students need to use their literacy skills to earn characters’ teeth. Such a great way to get students who struggle invested in their literacy skills!

  7. Stephanie C.

This was perfect for my littles in my resource room! It had so many activities that I could use with them! So excited to use them again very soon!

Lots of amazing activities used during class time and also for fast finishers. When used in conjunction with the little boxes, the students were able to easily select the activities they wanted to do to further enhance their learning. Thank you!!!

I own all the toothy sets now and LOVE them!! My students are easily able to transfer the process of how to use these task cards from subject to subject. I love how many topics this covers because there is always something to supplement my teaching!

This is my second toothly bundle! They have been very helpful and something students can work on independently. I like how it gives students an opportunity to check their work for accuracy without teacher help. I organize my sets into the Photo keeper boxes and it works great!

This kit is awesome for interventions. Easy to use for centers as well! You only need to teach students how to use one kit and they can use all the others just as easily. So much fun!

  19. Nadine F

We use this as one of our word work centers – I love how this product includes so many different activities that follow the same routine, so when the task card changes the procedure remains the same and students don’t need to be taught all the steps from scratch each time!1

  20. Ms B

The effects of the pandemic on education has left many students with big learning gaps. This resource is just right to meet those needs and easy enough for stations. Thanks for a great product!

  21. leah L.

Toothy has been a favorite of mine for years now. When our kids came in very below level in reading, I knew I had to step down a level and get K toothy. What a life saver! Kids love it and will gladly play it anytime!

  22. Emily Johnson

Only 13 days into the year so I have not done this in small groups yet. We have done it whole group and the class LOVES it. It is super engaging and they are totally fine with not getting a question correct. They have responded really well and look forward to playing whenever possible!!

  23. Cindy C.

My students are always very engaged when using these reading games. I’ve used the 1st/2nd grade version of Toothy for years, but kids like this one even better.
