LOVE LOVE LOVE this product!!! I was moved to 2nd grade two years ago and have always struggled with assessing our reading standards without just using some sort of conferring. Conferring with every student, on ever standard, and doing regular conferring was just too time consuming!!! There are not enough minutes in the day to get everything done… here’s where reading comprehension passages come in! I love the differentiation in the questions and how even though they are differentiated the answers are always the same! It makes it so quick to grade all of the reading passages and then if a student struggled I can move them back or do a quick one on one with them to assess their understanding. I also was able to give my high flyers the above level so they didn’t feel like they were wasting their time. The passages are cute, and the kids like reading them to see what will happen and they love making predictions about what will happen. I can easily scale a passage in the same skill for students depending on their reading level, which makes differentiation effortless!

I love that there are different levels that help out with the different level students that we have in class. I have some high readers that were able to read the longer passages while my lower level students read the lower passages but it was the same topic. All students were able to come together as a class and discuss what the passage was about and it was interesting hearing the different thoughts and points. I also love that there are a variety or fiction and non-fiction.
