My students thrived using these each week for our writing units. We would talk about what they were going to write about then we would discuss what was needed to make type of writing. They loved having the pictures and words there to help them with spelling for words that pertained to the writing.

  2. Robin Z.

I found this resource very helpful with my third grade students. We are learning how to write a complete paragraph and having the rubric or things to look for what extremely helpful to keep them focused in their writing.

I think the writing resource is fantastic. I really like the picture words on the side to support the writing. It saves me from the many questions asking how to spell words. I also like the area for pictures.

I loved using this resource in my writing center. It gave students more practice or writing genres taught in whole group. I could see my students progress by the end of the year in writing.

  13. Chelsea W.

These print-and-go writing prompt pages were perfect for my students without me having to put a ton of time and effort into planning. I had students write within one genre a few times in a row, and then compare their writing with a rubric to notice how their writing grows and improves over time. The checklists at the bottom of the pages were perfect for this!

  14. Tonya T.

love this resource! In our school district this year, we are really focusing on different types of writing. This resource is divided up not only by month (WOO HOO!!), but by genre. How organized and convenient! It is also scaffolded to differentiate between needs/abilities of students. Thank you so much!

  15. Christine S.

This year my daughter opted to forgo the online writing curriculum we usually use. This is one of the few that I found that stays true to the “breakdown” of writing. I wanted her to continue on that particular path. She enjoys it and finds it easy to navigate.

  16. Christine M.

Love the topics for each month. Also love there are free write passages as well as assignments. The picture and word banks are great for the students to help with creating ideas in their writing.

  19. Catherine C.

I am SO happy I found this resource. Finding time to fit in writing has been so difficult with all I need to fit into my literacy block. This has been great to add into our intervention block and students can continue to work on their writing prompt if they finish an activity early, or as morning work. These prompts are engaging and exciting and I love how they help students organize their thoughts

  20. Tiffany D.

I love this resource for my daily writing center. There were some prompts that I couldn’t use because my students didn’t have the experience to write about it, but there were still enough that they could easily do. I’m so excited about this!

  21. Jill G.

My students enjoy learning about the different subjects. I have recently incorporated this into our daily activities. It is a good way to learn and be able to talk about the different subjects as a class.

  22. Lynette M.

I love this resource and use it in class with my second-grade students. My one suggestion is to have wider printing lines for writing.

  23. Second Grade Strong

I love using these writing prompts during the Daily 5. I switch them out every month, so there are always new topics. I love the different types of lined paper that it included. This is very low prep and kid friendly!

  24. Diana Noriega

  26. Savannah M.

Absolutely obsessed with this writing bundle! I specifically love that there are seasonal prompts for each writing style – narrative, informational, and opinion, as well as free writing – for the whole year. Each graphic organizer fits so nicely with the writing and it even helps support students who need the vocabulary word banks. The checklists on the bottom are the icing on the cake!

I used this with a couple of my small groups and it went wonderful! It was a great resource to supplement my lessons with. This classroom material was fun, engaging, and the students expressed how much they enjoyed this activity! I would recommend this resource!

  57. Casey Y.

My daughter’s weak spot is writing, so I got this for her to practice over the summer (nothing like a teacher-mom for tutoring). She grew so much in penmanship, catching editing errors and writing in general. She selected a response, then assigned me a page. The brainstorming pages helped her to slow down and actually plan vs just writing what came to mind. In my entries, I made mistake so she could be my peer editor and help me make better choices as a writer. Absolutely LOVED this resource for positive summer work with my kiddo.

  58. Chelsea M.

I anxiously awaited the release of this product, and I am so pleased with it! We moved to standards based grading this school year, and collecting data points for the various types of writing was difficult. This covers everything, and I love the variety of the topics! My students have enjoyed the prompts thus far. I look forward to the new releases!
